Pultruded carbon fibre spars (3 to 6 mm) of highest quality are used to frame our sport kites. Matrix spars are very light and extremely strong. Carbon Fibre Kompositae (CFK) or Carbon fibre reinforced polymer (CFRP, CRP, CFRTP) is often simply called carbon fibre.
We normally carry the following spars sizes:
- Tubes from 4.5 mm to 6 mm in diameter; in 1.3 m to 1.65 m length
- 3 mm solid carbon rods in standard length of 1.1 m
Carbon fibre spars can easily be cut with a hack saw blade (or we can cut spars for you - no returns). Wrap Sellotape at the required length and cut through it to stop fraying of fibres. Finish ends off with sand paper.
When ordering, it is important to specify diameter and length of your carbon fibre spar. (1m = 100cm = 1000mm; 1 inch = 25.4 mm).
NB: Due to size, shipping might be more expensive than product.
